According to Wikipedia we (Swedes) have seen 11x07 Days of Misrule of Midsomer Murders before the Brits since according to Wiki, the episode is set to air as a Christmas episode during 2008. Is that really true? In that case, it's sort of amusing in a way. ♥ I love Midsomer Murders so. However, I'm so sad that I missed the episode last night. Damn the Dark Knight (it's actually kind of sad - if I knew that MM was airing on Tuesday (I'd forgotten) I probably would've postponed my viewing of TDK). I'm going to tattoo the rerun on my forearm if I have two. Tomorrow, 21.50 SVT24.

Seriously people. Midsomer Murders is the shit. Why do Brits make the best TV shows? Life on Mars and Midsomer Murders. In my opinion, those are the two best shows ever. Seriously. (and you know I only say seriously when it's true love)

Good morning flist!

Today's started off pretty weirdly because I started to read up on Gusav Vasa (called Gustav I of Sweden on Wikipedia, check it out if you're interested) and his wives and the wives of his children and the children themselves. I'm sort of surprised that Sweden hasn't decided to make The Tudors - Swedish style because there was a lot of drama during that period in time. Me loves it :D

Secondly, happy birthday Sweden (yes, it's our national day) and [livejournal.com profile] __undeniiable who apparently has her birthday today :D Happy birthday.

I think today will mostly consist of me reading A Great and Terrible Beauty of Libba Bray and maybe watching The X-Files season two, if I'm up for it. ♥

It's sort of surprising to see Life on Mars talk on my flist. I greatly encourage it since it's such an awesome show and I suggest people start watching it, if you haven't already. Life on Mars was the name ;)

Edit: By the by, I have 36 new icons at [livejournal.com profile] withouttheworld, which you can see here.

They're kind of ugly but I've sort of forgotten how to make icons

Any recs?

I'm really in the mood to print out some fan fictions and keep it in this folder that I have so I can read good fics without having to go online or such. Or keep like an archive of good fics on my computer. And therefore I'm asking you whether or not you have any favourites in these fandoms that you think I could enjoy:

Doctor Who (Doctor/Rose or gen, Master/Lucy), Supernatural (gen and/or Sam/Ruby), Gossip Girl (Eric & Chuck friendship, Chuck/Blair, Blair/Nate, Vanessa/Dan, Vanessa/Nate), X-Files, Sarah Connor Chronicles (John/Cameron, Cameron/Derek or some sort of triangle), Smallville (Clark/Lois, Lois/Oliver, Lois & Jimmy), Torchwood (Ianto/Jack, Ianto/Owen, Owen/Tosh, Ianto/John - haha, just something I thought of - oh the plot bunnies I just had), Ugly Betty (Betty/Gio), Criminal Minds (Reid, gen), Life on Mars (gen, Sam/Annie), Veronica Mars (Veronica/Weevil, Veronica/Lamb, Veronica/Duncan, Veronica/Piz, gen), Battlestar Galactica (Gaius/Six), Buffy The Vampire Slayer/Angel (I guess I can read anything but Spuffy and/or Angel/Cordelia at this point).

Also, huge happy birthday to [livejournal.com profile] missambs :D
starsthatshine: (mars: hello mrs wallace)
Still pulling out a general request of a header to my journal to whoever feels charitable ;) Fandoms: Doctor Who, Veronica Mars, Supernatural, Life on Mars, X-Men, Sarah Connor Chronicles and/or X-Files. I'd love to have at least three different fandoms in the header. (Sorry if I'm being a pain, I hope I'm not :))

Huge happy birthday [livejournal.com profile] feminosity.

I'm suppose to write a speech for Swedish class based on the theme Truth and Fiction, which is easier said than done. I'm in sheer panic-mode. I'm supposed to be prepared tomorrow and I don't even have a SUBJECT. And to make things even more hellish, I'm suppose to use the material which exists in a little leaflet and it's close to impossible.

We had a UN roleplay yesterday at school and I was a delegate for Saudi Arabia and according to various, completely unrelated comments, I was best dressed. Awesomeness.
starsthatshine: (dw: vote saxon)
Does anyone feel like making a header for me? Pretty please? My paid account is expiring soon. Which is really sad because that means that I'll get back to those hideous ads that I've come to loathe with a passion and now there's no escaping them *cries* And if I'm going to be subjected to them, at least I can have a pretty layout for the one I have at the moment is... well, not to my liking. Anyone feel like they want to make one? Comment and I shall supply you with pictures and stuff, if you'd like.

Right now my life is going pretty smoothly. Sure, I'm under a lot of pressure but it's okay. I spend most of my time in school, and talk to friends and then I basically come home for dinner, watch an episode of Pride and Prejudice ('95 version for the win :D) and then check my email on Hany's computer (Internet only works on one computer and since he - he's my mother's husband - is obsessed with Fifa 2007, we can't check our email most of the time) and then go to bed. It's become sort of a routine.

Still haven't had the chance to watch any more Greek because of well... no Internet, but I did catch a few minutes of Life on Mars on television the other day (it went on BBC Prime) so I took a few pictures, screening the TV, so I have a few John Simm pics and one Guv and one Sam/Annie. Oh show, how I've missed thee.

I hope that Internet starts working on my Suse soon because I'm dying. The network card isn't working, or it doesn't connect with the Internet and the second harddrive I have installed on my computer, containing stuff like music, I'm not allowed to delete anything there and apparently my computer recognizes it as being part of Windows, which is weird. *headdesk* How do I get Internet working on my Suse?
starsthatshine: (atonement: why don't you talk)
I've spent the last couple of hours writing my EU essay, fair to say I became really pessimistic about that whole organisation. Now I'm just counting the minutes until my sister shows up so we can watch Gossip Girl because I need to... not think for a bit. Just sit down and relax, which Gossip Girl is perfect for. Anyway, it's in Swedish and the current word count is 1,877. Anyone interested in reading? ^^

Huge happy birthday [livejournal.com profile] bashipforever! I hope you'll have a fantastic birthday sweetheart. Sorry I haven't been such an active commenter.

Also, anyone here ever read Philosophy? I have this essay for English class and I have no clue if I'm doing it right because I haven't had the subject. Help?

TWO DAYS TILL CHRISTMAS BREAK! Woohooo! *dances* Can you feel the joy? In honour of that joy, the first five that comment and say that they want a drabble/ficlet thingy will get one. I sucked at fulfilling icon requests but I'm confident in my writing abilities (sort of)... Just provide me with fandom and prompt. Fandoms I can write: Original (if you just want a short story or something that doesn't have a fandom association), Supernatural, Gossip Girl, Doctor Who, Heroes (with some restrictions, some characters such as Maya I can't won't write) and Dexter (Never tried but I could). Some shows, sadly, I haven't seen in forever (such as Life on Mars) so it would be difficult to write from that.
starsthatshine: (mars: this is all bullshit)
I'm listening to the Life on Mars soundtrack and I realized I totally miss my Life On Mars obsession. I need to revisit that fandom soon, because it was so FRICKING FANTASTIC! :D Oh well, I'm being a fangirl I suppose. I have a few episodes on my computer that I'll watch and we'll see where that goes.

Tomorrow I have a presentation on slavery due in my Social Science class and I have to organize and make notes and stuff like that. It's going to be interesting. Also, I need to write a wishlist for Christmas to my mother and find a beta to my Chuck/Blair fic. Anyone interested?

I've been a terrible commenter lately but that is because it seems like the power of words have failed me completely. Most entries are generally about people informing me what's going on in their lives, which is fantastic, but it's a bit hard to comment on on occasion. And it seems like I'm in one of those occasions right now.

Also, I need more Josh Groban music :D Oh, how I love thee. Although my sister is this close to put me in a treatment centre for the mentally disturbed. Even if Josh Groban represents 80% of what I listen to right now, it doesn't mean it's only Josh Groban, right? :P Besides, he's a good singer and it's such pleasant music so I'm hardly complaining.

I'm still a lot behind of my flist and I still won't be able to comment for another few days. My brain is dead, I bought a new magazine, some new clothes, got a little less than half Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows left (not sure if I like it yet, WHERE ARE MY BABIES?!) and I just feel generally uninspired. However, I do still love my John Simm &hearts , Dexter, Doctor Who, Heroes (I'm not in the mood of watching returns of it, so therefore there's little squeeage at the moment, but it will come really soon. Heroes friends, hang in there ;)) and all those other shows I'm seriously neglecting. I haven't been able to see an episode of Supernatural since Bloody Mary a few days ago but I'll see what I can do about it.

I'm thinking about ordering make-up from EverydayMinerals.com, has anyone else bought make-up there? Is it good?

*sigh* Gonna watch some old!Doctor Who (it's good but they talk too bloody much at times and it makes my head even deader. They need to show things more rather than just explain it) and then there's Midsomer Murders ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥ (you can't have summer without Midsomer Murders!). Then I'm off to bed and tomorrow I will paint a house at work and hopefully finish Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince. Would anyone be interested in a reaction post for me or has everyone done it too many times already?

Also, stealing this idea from [livejournal.com profile] anythingbutgrey because I thought it'd be fun (don't hate me if you think parroting *this isn't an essay or such but still... I like the word 'parroting'* is really bad)

Huge happy birthday [livejournal.com profile] motoredxheart! :D It's so wonderful that you have your birthday just before my own. Huge happy birthday and I wish you many wonderful presents :D

Sofia is here (I think her LJ username is [livejournal.com profile] vadette) and we're having a ball. I'm so gonna make her watch Life on Mars *grin*

Tomorrow is my birthday and I get up at six to work *sigh* Oh well, despite that the people I'm working with makes my brain cells lessen, they're all right. But I've been there a week and I feel like it's been a year. I wish these three weeks could just end and that Sofia could stay till August :D

Anyway, I'll try and post tomorrow and tell you about all the stuff that happened :D

Chapter One: Unexpected Suspects )
starsthatshine: (life on mars - take my hand)
I haven't written anything of substance for a few days but that's because I've been so exhausted by work that writing something about fandom or otherwise is nearly impossible. Right now, I'm on my lunch break and will soon get back. Once I get home, I'll continue to write on my Life on Mars story (spiced wih an essence of Doctor Who) and most importantly - take a shower. I've been cleaning away graffiti and I can honestly say that I loathe the bastards that put it there. There was dust everywhere, my hair feels like shit and my hands are dry.

Anyway, back to my Life on Mars story. I love Samland and the trouble I'm putting him through in my fic. I really feels like it could be an episode of Doctor Who, or Life on Mars. Maybe I feel that it might be a bit too close to the show, I don't know, but still... I have everything mapped out in my head and I can't wait to get it down on paper.

Currently, I've written 16 pages and 7018 words. I'm more than certain that the story will be over 10000 once I'm done. But it's drawing near the end of the story and I'm actually surprised how Sam/Annie centric the fic header will be when I post it. All the other pairings are more or less implied but Annie/Sam is not really implied because it's very true to their relationship on the show.

Also, before I forget: HAPPY LATE BIRTHDAY MR JOHN SIMM!!!! You own television.

2 days till my birthday *squee* And tomorrow [livejournal.com profile] motoredxheart has hers *hugs* Lots of birthdays :D

Happy birthday [livejournal.com profile] entangled_now! I hope you'll have a fantastic one.

I started working on my other job today. Two hours later, I'm strangely exhausted. I'm working with one guy I "know" I went in the same class as him about... four years ago, called Joel. He's really kind and the other people I work with are from Obbola (our neighbouring "village") and are sort of... I wouldn't call them dumb but they seem to be the kind of guys that think blowing up things are cool and that working with engines is perhaps the best thing one could do.

The best part about today is that I found out that Joel has seen Life on Mars (!) I don't know how many episodes but I bet it's at least two because he remembered that Life on Mars by David Bowie was played during Life on Mars and he was giving me a short summary of the plot (quite accurately, which people don't tend to do over here). Totally made me squee. And he has his birthday close to mine (which I knew), so when his birthday's tomorrow, I have to remember to say 'happy birthday to him'.

Off to read Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix.
starsthatshine: (life on mars - i don't hate everything)
I've introduced Life On Mars to my dad. He liked it. Partly because he remembered all those things in the 70's but also Ithink he sort of fell for Gene. He's his type of character. Funny, a bit in your face and all around awesome.

I'm watching Live Earth but besides Leonardo DiCaprio and Ricky Gervais, I didn't really see anyone announce that I knew of or so... Oh well, I hope someone clips all the important people :D

Going to bed now. Stupid post really but I thought I'd share that my dad liked LOM and that my crossover fic is currently on its ninth page. ♥

Toodles :D
starsthatshine: (life on mars - many names)
This makes me literary sick inside (about Life on Mars USA, which is gonna totally be sucking so unbelievably). Seriously, I'm feeling extremely nauseated. I won't see the American version for as long as I live. It will make me depressed.

I found a Sam Tyler mood theme, which I'm gonna use. Master in all honour, but nothing beats Sammyboy :D
starsthatshine: (doctor who - thanks for asking)
Lucy/Master icons + Just Like Heaven (movie) icons. 60 icons in total (it's almost like I planned it! :D).

My birthday is in two weeks and I can't figure out what I want. Okay, something that's not completely insane like... well, if you've read my entries at all this week, I can guess that you can guess what I'm thinking about *feels a bit funny and stupid on the same time* Oh, now I do know :D

Mini-wishlist for my birthday:
01. All classic Doctor Who episodes that can be found online burned down on a disc and sent to a mailbox near me
02. All Life on Mars episode, just like stated above.
03. Paid account (one can never have too much of that :P)

Anyway, I'm a huge silly mood and I'm totally writing a Life on Mars/Doctor Who crossover. Just so you'll get a little taste:

“DN…” Gene seemed to have trouble getting the words out without shouting, “DNA?” He suddenly turned to Sam, “Is this some fucking joke, Tyler?!” Some of the Gov’s spit landed on Sam’s cheek as his boss’ face had the same colour as a tomato.

Still very much unbetad but in context it will be hilarious (or so I think). I just have to force a certain someone to put Twilight aside and watch heaps and heaps of Life on Mars so they can beta ;)

I really should fangirl Heroes some, but I feel as if I'm suddenly very bored with American television in general. It's so... American. Too many filler episodes sometimes, too much babble about how ratings are more important than quality. Also, there's a distinct lack of Simm in anything American ;) Okay, I wasn't serious about the last bit sort of, I was just being a dork as always ;)

Can't believe it's my birthday in a week.
