I'm trying to convince my sister to let me put in X-Files Season 3 on her iPod, sadly, she doesn't seem convinced. And the argument 'It's X-Files!' doesn't seem to motivate her in the slightest, even if I promise to remove it after I've seen it.

... Doesn't she trust her own clone? ;)

I watched the "new" (I guess it's been out for a while) X-Files movie yesterday. I haven't seen all of it yet, but it really motivated me to watch all the X-Files seasons again. The show was such an epic part of my early childhood and I have so many fond memories of pretending to sleep while my mom was watching and I always kept one eye open and pretended to snore (my mom and my sisters we all shared a room way back then because I was sort of afraid of the dark or something) while she watched. It was so funny.

Seriously. I found the best thing ever on YouTube. Seriously. This is just... so awesome. It's such awesome silliness.

David Duchovny by Bree Sharp (the music video)

I had heard the song before, but what amuses me is the gigantic amount of celeberties in it that sings along to the chrous and everything ♥

Seriously. So much love :D

Happy birthday [livejournal.com profile] eirian :D :D I hope it's awesome :D

Edit: Wtf? You can download embedded videos now from LJ?

Good morning flist!

Today's started off pretty weirdly because I started to read up on Gusav Vasa (called Gustav I of Sweden on Wikipedia, check it out if you're interested) and his wives and the wives of his children and the children themselves. I'm sort of surprised that Sweden hasn't decided to make The Tudors - Swedish style because there was a lot of drama during that period in time. Me loves it :D

Secondly, happy birthday Sweden (yes, it's our national day) and [livejournal.com profile] __undeniiable who apparently has her birthday today :D Happy birthday.

I think today will mostly consist of me reading A Great and Terrible Beauty of Libba Bray and maybe watching The X-Files season two, if I'm up for it. ♥

It's sort of surprising to see Life on Mars talk on my flist. I greatly encourage it since it's such an awesome show and I suggest people start watching it, if you haven't already. Life on Mars was the name ;)

Edit: By the by, I have 36 new icons at [livejournal.com profile] withouttheworld, which you can see here.

They're kind of ugly but I've sort of forgotten how to make icons

Any recs?

I'm really in the mood to print out some fan fictions and keep it in this folder that I have so I can read good fics without having to go online or such. Or keep like an archive of good fics on my computer. And therefore I'm asking you whether or not you have any favourites in these fandoms that you think I could enjoy:

Doctor Who (Doctor/Rose or gen, Master/Lucy), Supernatural (gen and/or Sam/Ruby), Gossip Girl (Eric & Chuck friendship, Chuck/Blair, Blair/Nate, Vanessa/Dan, Vanessa/Nate), X-Files, Sarah Connor Chronicles (John/Cameron, Cameron/Derek or some sort of triangle), Smallville (Clark/Lois, Lois/Oliver, Lois & Jimmy), Torchwood (Ianto/Jack, Ianto/Owen, Owen/Tosh, Ianto/John - haha, just something I thought of - oh the plot bunnies I just had), Ugly Betty (Betty/Gio), Criminal Minds (Reid, gen), Life on Mars (gen, Sam/Annie), Veronica Mars (Veronica/Weevil, Veronica/Lamb, Veronica/Duncan, Veronica/Piz, gen), Battlestar Galactica (Gaius/Six), Buffy The Vampire Slayer/Angel (I guess I can read anything but Spuffy and/or Angel/Cordelia at this point).

Also, huge happy birthday to [livejournal.com profile] missambs :D
starsthatshine: (moonlight: i feel the touch)
I saw this article posted in an X-Files community and I do think it's kinda scary. Tooms exist in real life, muhaha! ;)

Internet is working on my sister's computer and we're actually so scared of losing Internet (because if Internet goes to mom's husband we have to beg him to check our emails and stuff and he's kinda an ass) so we made sure that the computer was on all night (although we didn't sit and play with it though, mind you).

I really want to buy clothes all of the sudden. I mean, I want a wardrobe, live somewhere sunny where they speak English and go around being ridiculously happy all the time. Sounds kind of weird but it's true. I was just struck by this mood when I was looking at a picture of Josh Groban (*headdesk* I know I'm a dork sometimes ;)) and he just looked so ridiculously normal (and sort of happy even though somewhat tired lmao) and I thought, hey, I want to be like that too.

I kinda realized that my little sister's "i see him all the time and talk to him constantly and he lets me borrow his cellphone, playstation 2 and pays for things but he's not my boyfriend" friend just came over, at 10.30 am. My little sister woke up about half an hour ago. They are my real life OTP, I swear. They should date. They are awesome together.

Still pulling out a general request of a header to my journal to whoever feels charitable ;) Fandoms: Doctor Who, Veronica Mars, Supernatural, Life on Mars, X-Men, Sarah Connor Chronicles and/or X-Files. I'd love to have at least three different fandoms in the header. (Sorry if I'm being a pain, I hope I'm not :))

Huge happy birthday [livejournal.com profile] feminosity.

I'm suppose to write a speech for Swedish class based on the theme Truth and Fiction, which is easier said than done. I'm in sheer panic-mode. I'm supposed to be prepared tomorrow and I don't even have a SUBJECT. And to make things even more hellish, I'm suppose to use the material which exists in a little leaflet and it's close to impossible.

We had a UN roleplay yesterday at school and I was a delegate for Saudi Arabia and according to various, completely unrelated comments, I was best dressed. Awesomeness.
starsthatshine: (gossip: something beautiful)
It kinda hurts having six userpics. I know that if I ever get any kind of money (or well... a credit card), I'll invest in more userpics because having to choose between the.... X amount of icons I have saved (I think it's actually up to something like 7000 without being dramatic) is torture. All those Sarah Connor Chronicles, X-Files, X-Men, Doctor Who, Being Human, Gossip Girl, Supernatural etc. icons that I have to pass down because of the lack of space :( Woe. I don't know why but sometimes it's just... liberating on such trivial matters as a shortage of icon space.

Happy birthday [livejournal.com profile] coffeegirl18, I hope you have an amazing one.

Things to do this week:

- Finish that History paper I've so glamorously "forgotten"
- Do Spanish test
- Read "Seven Spiritual Laws to Success" (pfft, I like reading those sorts of things because well... it's an interesting read)
- Do a 'Why we should all watch Being Human'-post
- Finish the second last episode of season one of X-Files and start on the second season. Oh, Krycek, I can't wait for your evil face to appear on my screen ♥
- Do English test
- Do Being Human icons
- Work on my John/Cameron fansite (anyone interested in giving a hand?)

Anyway, as you might imagine, I will have quite a few things to do, although most of these things probably won't take long. And therefore, I'm going to ask anyone, who is willing, to give me a plot which I will write a story out of. It doesn't have to be anything fancy, just so that I'll start writing something. Preferably something fantasy/young adult/supernatural thingy because well... I feel like writing something like that.

I don't know why but I became in the mood of writing something corny like:
Kevin, a seventeen year old vampire lord, has to battle with English tests, hormones, a coven of angry, vengeful witches and, of course, another clan of vampires moving in on his territory.

lol. I amuse myself. Anyone interested in reading that? I guess I'm looking for something to write where I don't have to be 100% serious all the time.

Oh, and I finished reading 'Le Mur' of Jean-Paul Sartre (easy reader!French, of course, since I'm not that strong in the French language) YAY! :D It's about three prisoners, right?, that get sentenced to death during the Fascism (is that the correct term for that period of time?) and this one guy is being sentenced to death because he refuses to give the military information of the whereabouts of someone and just as he's about to get executed he gives the military false information, thinking it would be funny to send them on a wild goose chase, but he ends up not being executed because it turns out they found the guy at the location he said. Did I understand the story correctly?

Deleting userpics is always a painful thing to do. I mean, you always want to keep some icons for sentimental value, right? Or is that just me? But you also want to put in some new ones that you've found... It's a tricky situation.

I got my haircut today and I've spent the majority of the day doing absolutely nothing except that, taking walks, checking up on universities and watching a few episodes of The X-Files. And I think it's kind of funny that in Skinner's first episode Mulder says this to Scully: "... they've not already reeled you in, they've already skinned you" - and if you take into account that this was Skinner's first episode, I find it kind of amusing. As if it was some sort of nickname. Maybe it's just I, who's easily amused?

Anyway, I think I need to go to bed now and I'll resume proper flisting later on (although I still suck at commenting, but I'm trying to improve :D).

I'm back!

starsthatshine: (spn: say what?)
I decided to return from my hiatus. Not quite sure if I've got enough rest but I miss you guys and with new obsessions coming on, I just have to squee with someone.

I saw the latest Supernatural episode and DAMN, it was awesome! Is there someone on my flist that doesn't watch this show? For the first time, I hope not to get any answers to that question because everyone should. It's so... awesome beyond words. I think that the show has really developed. Season one was mostly about the legends and stuff (which was awesome), then season two came with all the emotions (it was good but imo it was a little bit much) and now season three is like a delicious mix between those two. ♥ Guess what I'm going to purchase?

To buy list:

  • Supernatural Season Three DVD

  • Criminal Minds Season One DVD

  • X-Files Season Three and Four DVD

As you can see, I've started to love a special genre of shows.

I bought some clothes yesterday from H&M, all in brown, yellow and white. 70's haha! Anyway, I'm going to go to my grandmother so that she can fold up the pants because, as always, they were too long. (Does that never happen to everyone? Seems like everyone I know have to fold up their pants) And I managed to get a hold of a long-sleeved white normal top - they're not extinct! :D I had almost lost hope.
starsthatshine: (daisies: love for everyone)
I'm still MIA but I felt like I wanted to make an entry. Yesterday, I finally got my season one and season two DVDs of the X-Files. Unfortunately, my region free DVD player (I'm seriously doubting it's regional free right now) can't play it for some reason, saying that it's the wrong region. It's a region one DVD and I think I have other region one DVDs that work perfectly. Does anyone know why this might happen?

As I'm rewatching the show, starting from the beginning, I just realized how perfect the show is. The characters are fantastic, the stories compelling and it's sort of... deep and imaginative without being silly or off. This has to be one of my favourite quotes out of the first four episodes:

Hypnosist: "Are you scared?"
Mulder: "I know I should be but I'm not"
Hypnosist: "Do you know why?"
Mulder: "Because of the voice"
H: "The voice?"
M: "The voice in my head"
H: "What's it telling you?"
M: "Not to be afraid. It's telling me no harm will come to her and that one day she'll return."
H:"Do you believe that voice?"
M: "I want to believe."

Poor baby ♥ Mulder is sooo my TV boyfriend ^^

I also saw the first episode of My So Called Life yesterday (I'm really watching "old" shows now ^^) and I loved it. Saw Jared Leto for the first time (in something where he's actually moving and speaking (not pictures)) and Claire Danes was lovely. I can really relate to that show.

I'm going to continue with my hiatus a little bit. Miss you guys.
starsthatshine: (heroes: sylar favourite serial killer)
Still alive and well! I'm writing a Ianto/Jack fan fic with a little bit of sweetness but so far it's more of a character analysis than something with an actual plot. Anyone interested in beta?

I think that my fic (Heroes, where I'm basically subtexting Mohinder/Mylar, Elle and well... basically all the characters I have in the fic) will be ready for your reading pleasure.

I'm so sad that the hype that surrounded the Petrellibros and Mylar seem to have faded a bit (but it's sort of natural, I suppose, considering the season we've had where they've basically tried to push the mandatory het ships in our faces - although I must say some I liked, others - not so much). Are you still out there? :D

Need to get out of my Heroes obsession but it's difficult since my sister will be getting her Heroes DVD around the 16th and that means rewatching the loveliness that is season one. But hopefully, I will start loving the X-Files a bit more since I'm getting S1 and S2 around the same time. :D

I don't know if you're bothered by my Heroes musings. But if you are, I bet I'm going to write about the X-Files, and about Torchwood (since it's starting soon ♥)
starsthatshine: (heroes: learn to like it)
I might actually have made a decision on something. I've discovered where I want to go for university: St. Andrews. Okay, it's pretty close to my sister but that can also be a good thing, also it's a lot cheaper and it's apparently a good university (peeps who know these things; what do you think? What have you heard about St. Andrews?) and well... I just hope my grades will suffice. Universities like Oxford and Cambridge just seems... not right for me whereas the little I've heard about St. Andrews seems appropriate. I can't lie and say that the location (i.e. the fact that it's in Scotland) doesn't play a huge part in my thoughts, but... whatever.

Happy new year everyone! It's a while before the new year starts for me but I thought I'd put it out there anyway. You're all so awesome and I hope that the new year will exceed all your expectations and that you'll be happy and have the best 2008 you can possibly have.

I'm going to do a Peter/Elle music vid but I don't have any episodes and clips are scarce so we'll see how it goes. I think I have only 2x08 to work with, but hopefully it will turn out well either way. I'm so happy I'm back in my Heroes mood! :D

Also, Season 1 and 2 of The X-Files will soon be in a mailbox near me :D Yay :D

Mulder/Krycek fan fic thing that I'm bothered about )

Still no television for me, mainly because the timing has been generally off lately and I haven't even seen Bones this week. I partly regret it. It was beginning to be good. And if Booth had a character development/revelation episode, I'll die.

I'll kill my sister for just letting me see teasers of the VM finale because she has made icons *serious anger* A ship spoiler but still. I still think that those icons should be under complete cuts with no teasers. I HAVEN'T SEEN THE FINALE YET.

I should probably read the Da Vinci Code soon *groan* Not a good book so far.
starsthatshine: (samaire // kinky)
I'm just sitting here at my father's, after a good cold shower (it's about five hundred degrees at mom's and outside) and reading some Mulder/Krycek fan fiction.

It's been such a long time since I've ever squeed about Mulder/Krycek, but they are a huge love. Just reading fan fiction makes me want to print it out, sit and read it now that I don't have Pride and Prejudice in my hands (which, by the way, is a pretty slow book - perhaps good, but incredibly slow).

I don't know what it is but X-Files fan fiction, at least some - really feels like writing to me. Sure, they might not start the way I like but there's a sense of detail that I think have been lost these days.

Well, now back to my fan fiction.
