Hi everyone.
This is really weird... My computer acts as though it's playing music (sometimes, but when I play stuff on iTunes, the song won't even start but in Media Player it acts like everything's fine) but I can't hear any sound. It was fine yesterday and as far as I can remember I've done nothing to the sound since then. Any suggestions as to what I might do to get the sound back on?

And LastFM keeps crashing on me. Or at least that's what it says it's doing when I try to shut it down. Then it's going to send this "crash information" but it always ends up saying that it can't for some reason.

Anyone know what the issue is?

(eta: also, I can't listen to sound on YouTube or anything)

I'm so thrilled right now - my old computer's started working again :D I finally got it working again. It's such a liberation to have this computer back, where I don't have to be as careful with the keyboard. Absolutely lovely. ♥

Earlier today, I was overcome with a sudden desire to absolutely master the Spanish language so right now I'm listening to language courses in attempt to rehearse my current knowledge.

Btw, thank you all so much for your movie recommendations. Feel free to keep them coming. I love movies :D

Still here

First off, I would like to thank everyone who wished me happy birthday the other day. It was incredibly sweet that you remembered. Even if I haven't been exactly one of the more active members of your flist. And thank you sooo sooo much [livejournal.com profile] damedbx for the cupcake, thank you so much :D I shall treasure it forever ;) And secondly, I want to wish [livejournal.com profile] marishna a happy birthday. Happy birthday darling :D And now down to business:

1) I made a new layout featuring the music love of my life. I thought, 'hey I fangirl a lot about TV shows and stuff, why not try to embrace the music side of fandom?' and after that, this layout was created: [livejournal.com profile] aliasagent Josh Groban, the man who spoiled me for any other kind of music. It's quite tragic really.

2) Besides my neverending love for Josh Groban (of whom I don't speak of that often), I've recieved another obsession (besides RPGing) which is Claire Danes. I absolutely adore her, and making arts of her (Photoshop is a third obsession that is creeping up on me). It's incomprehensible and sort of awesome.

3) My computer (now my laptop) is acting weird *sigh* It found a virus this morning (which was a bit weird since I did a scan yesterday but found nothing) and I put it in quarantine. Preferrably, I'd just delete the thing out of existence, but it said that quarantine was recommended so... I did that. Still. The thought of viruses infecting my computer (which normally doesn't happen) brings chills to my spine.

Anyway, gotta run. How've you all been?

I'm sitting on my dad's Linux/Suse... eh, operation system and the thing is that I'd like very much to install it on my own computer back home. The installation is not a problem in itself (at the moment since he has all the Cds and stuff) but what I'd really like to be able to is to see video clips and stuff. Like .avi etc. but the problem is that no media player works and we've tried to download players such as Mplayer, VLC etc. but it doesn't work!

Which drives me a little bit insane.

What player should work to watch things in? Do I need codecs? If so, how do I install it when nothing seems to work of what we've tried so far.

We've tried going through the root user and just click on the installation icon, but that doesn't work. We've tried being on a non root user, but that doesn't work. We've tried going through the Installtion Source thing but that doesn't work either.

What are we doing wrong? Do you have an suggestions? I'd REALLY like to be able to use Suse/Linux but if I can't watch video files, I might just die.
