I love love love love love love British shows. I mean, American ones are made 100+ a year and most of them are crap but... British ones are quality. Or at least generally much more enjoyable than American ones because American ones tend to go mostly on clichés while British ones are more reality-based. Or at least that's how I've seen things.
I'm rewatching Life on Mars while introducing my sister to it and it's so much love. Annie/Sam is one of those ships I really love. I can understand the Gene/Sam love, but I'm not a fan of it in that way. I love their friendship and how it really doesn't work most of the time.
I want to see more British shows (I've got my interest peaked) and I've seen Doctor Who, Torchwood, Life on Mars and Skins. Are there any other good shows out there that are worthy of a watch?
Edit: *headdesk* I forgot, I've also seen Hex, Fawlty Towers and Midsomer Murders (I tried Robin Hood but I almost fell asleep when I saw the pilot)

I've watched some British comedies that were stellar. You can never go wrong with Monty Python. Black Adder was wonderful. I highly recommend Series 2. Miranda Richardson owns all! Black Books was absolutely brilliant. Dylan Moran also has some stand up specials that are hilarious. Plus, he's attractive in his own special way. An older show, Only Fools and Horses is delightful as well. Oh, and there's The Thick of It. It's The Office meets politics. Fawlty Towers is great too. I find that some of these shows take an episode or two to get into, but it's well worth it. I don't know if you've seen any or like comedy, but those are some definite recs I can make.

Date: 2007-07-03 03:55 am (UTC)Fawlty Towers is a classic :D (I have it on DVD, can't I believe I forgot about it ;)) and I know that my mom loves Blackadder :)
Skins is about a group of teenagers and well... I don't really know how to explain it but it's good.
Sam/Annie = OTP :D Annie is so sweet and she's so wonderful how she doesn't immediately call Sam insane ;)

I can't think of anything else for now...good comedies have been already suggested. Fawlty Towers is hilarious, so is Black Books. I suggest you to watch Spaced, it's my latest crush.
And I'm currently watching Jekyll (you get the plot I guess), it's excellent too.

Date: 2007-07-03 09:06 am (UTC)I heard there were gonna have an American remake of State of Play...with Brad Pitt in the role of Simm.
That's sometimes the problem with british tv shows, it's harder to download them than american tv shows.

Date: 2007-07-03 09:22 am (UTC)... please tell me that the Brad Pitt thing turned out to be something fake. 'cause Brad ins't half as good as Simm ♥
