I love love love love love love British shows. I mean, American ones are made 100+ a year and most of them are crap but... British ones are quality. Or at least generally much more enjoyable than American ones because American ones tend to go mostly on clichés while British ones are more reality-based. Or at least that's how I've seen things.

I'm rewatching Life on Mars while introducing my sister to it and it's so much love. Annie/Sam is one of those ships I really love. I can understand the Gene/Sam love, but I'm not a fan of it in that way. I love their friendship and how it really doesn't work most of the time.

I want to see more British shows (I've got my interest peaked) and I've seen Doctor Who, Torchwood, Life on Mars and Skins. Are there any other good shows out there that are worthy of a watch?

Edit: *headdesk* I forgot, I've also seen Hex, Fawlty Towers and Midsomer Murders (I tried Robin Hood but I almost fell asleep when I saw the pilot)

It's okay. I can watch it YouTube-style ;) which means I won't need to download it.

Oh man, you totally sneaked into my mind didn't you? I was about to pry some more British shows out of my friend from England because I need a Brit fix. And speaking of Sam/Annie, I find every song I listen to makes me think of them. I have not done that in forever! *hearts Sam/Annie* It was such a wonderful relationship. Shonda Rhimes should take a lesson from teh Life on Mars people on how to make a beautiful and healthy relationship that is still interesting to watch.

Anyway, I haven't seen Skins yet. What is it like?

I've watched some British comedies that were stellar. You can never go wrong with Monty Python. Black Adder was wonderful. I highly recommend Series 2. Miranda Richardson owns all! Black Books was absolutely brilliant. Dylan Moran also has some stand up specials that are hilarious. Plus, he's attractive in his own special way. An older show, Only Fools and Horses is delightful as well. Oh, and there's The Thick of It. It's The Office meets politics. Fawlty Towers is great too. I find that some of these shows take an episode or two to get into, but it's well worth it. I don't know if you've seen any or like comedy, but those are some definite recs I can make.

Oh, and to add: Father Ted! You'll be seeing "feck" every chance you get. Plus, Doogal is amazing. Heh, the actor who played him played the cat dad who gave the Doctor a ride in Gridlock.

Oh, many recs :D

Fawlty Towers is a classic :D (I have it on DVD, can't I believe I forgot about it ;)) and I know that my mom loves Blackadder :)

Skins is about a group of teenagers and well... I don't really know how to explain it but it's good.

Sam/Annie = OTP :D Annie is so sweet and she's so wonderful how she doesn't immediately call Sam insane ;)

British shows...I highly recomand you Spooks (or MI-5), it's brilliant. Afterlife is very good too, very creepy.
State of Play is a drama serial with John Simm and Bill Nighy, a bit complicated but really really good.
I can't think of anything else for now...good comedies have been already suggested. Fawlty Towers is hilarious, so is Black Books. I suggest you to watch Spaced, it's my latest crush.
And I'm currently watching Jekyll (you get the plot I guess), it's excellent too.

Spooks is something I've been interested in before, but I can't seem to find the first episode anywhere. State of Play? I REALLY WANT TO WATCH IT BECAUSE WELL... IT'S GOT JOHN SIMM ;)

I'll check out Jekyll as well (Steve Moffat writes good Doctor Who episodes ;))

Oh yeah, John Simm as a reporter is...just delicious :D
I heard there were gonna have an American remake of State of Play...with Brad Pitt in the role of Simm.

That's sometimes the problem with british tv shows, it's harder to download them than american tv shows.

You don't know where I can find it, do you?

... please tell me that the Brad Pitt thing turned out to be something fake. 'cause Brad ins't half as good as Simm ♥

Do you use torrents? Maybe I could find it on Demonoid.com once it's reopen.
I have no idea if it's true, I saw that on Wikipedia and on a few websites. Brad Pitt could be good but...that's John Simm.

I don't use torrents any more, sadly. *cries*

Brad can never be better than John. It's just fact ;)

(You've seen Hex too, right? ;) (why does people always forget Hex?))
And I know, British Shows are love! You could always start watching Robin Hood if you havn't seen it. it's a great show ^^ I also love Midsummer Murders, but I guess that's not the kind of serie one ususally watch, since the episodes are of movie-lenght. But still :P

Oh my god! I can't believe I forgot Hex! What is the world coming to?! O_O

Midsomer Murders is a classic ;) However, I'm not sure if I'm sold on Robin Hood...

If you like sketch comedy, A Bit of Fry and Laurie is good. I realise sketch comedy doesn't really lend itself to fandom and ships and the like, but I don't watch much British tv, unfortunately.

The Office is a must. It's a gazillion times better than the American version.

I tried to watch it once but it was really difficult to hear what they were saying :P Suppose there was some issues with the sound.

Wire in the Blood? What's that about?

I'll definitely check out Spaced saw on IMDB that John had made a guest appearance there and a few others. I think I've seen five minutes of Coupling long ago ;)

I'm not sure if I 100% agree with you. I tried watching Dr. Who and it didn't seem appealing. At least for me. :) I'm up to trying another episode though.
