Have I recently told you how much I adore my dad? Well, here comes some more of that lovin' *sarcastic* Apparently we are going to see him today and stay there over the bloody weekend, the only problem is though that we got to know that two days ago and I put almost every piece of clothing I owned in the washing machine. So I'm clothes-less. I can imagine how thrilled my dad will be...

Anyway, uploaded tons of new icons, but it caused some that I had before to be deleted. Among these icons are Natalie Portman, HBP quotes that I love and stuff like that.

I'm looking for new books to read - please comment if you have anything to recommend me

I completely love Jack - I mean seriously - I completely love him. I dont understand why the show had to be cancelled - you have no idea how angry I am with the television company that had it. So angry.

I have a feeling Luc is going to die *dont tell me if I'm right or wrong* it's just that Tru's comment "What I dont want to be is alone" seems like the death wish for Luc. Writers always does that - kills the love interest so that the heroes will have to think about the task. And of course - telling the secret (which I think she might) - is a wrong thing so... Bye Luc!

I'm a canon whore when it comes to Tru Calling. I ship Harrison/Tru, Tru/Luc and Jack/Tru :)

Now I have to go and eat :) Take care of yourselves

Have you ever tried the Discworld books?

[identity profile] aliasagent.livejournal.com 2005-08-05 10:39 am (UTC)(link)
I havent... Are they are any good? What are they about?

[identity profile] silent-chris.livejournal.com 2005-08-05 11:42 am (UTC)(link)
They're a blend of fantasy and humour (and sometimes satire). There are several core groups of charcters and the books alternate between different groups so one book will be about Granny Weatherwax's coven the next about Sam Vimes and the city watch. There are also a few that are (semi)stand alones but they're all set in locations on the same discworld. Most of them are outrageously funny and often quite thought provoking in an odd sort of way.

The author is Terry Pratchett.

[identity profile] aliasagent.livejournal.com 2005-08-05 12:55 pm (UTC)(link)
Very cool! I actually think I have a book of that... But I'm not sure. What's the first book's title?

[identity profile] silent-chris.livejournal.com 2005-08-05 01:49 pm (UTC)(link)
The first book is 'The Colour of Magic'.

It's not strictly necessary to read then in sequence, although it might make it easier to get through some of the one based around recurring groups of charcters. The first two are acctually two of the weakest, mainly because the style wasn't quite sorted out yet. A good one to strt with is probably 'Mort'.

Fantastic! I'll check out the books at once :) Thank you sooo much

Seriously, Tru Calling rocked last night! I was so shocked but I so love that show and I am too angry that they cancelled it!

[identity profile] aliasagent.livejournal.com 2005-08-05 10:40 am (UTC)(link)
Yeah. Let's hit them shall we?

[identity profile] ieleni.livejournal.com 2005-08-05 11:43 am (UTC)(link)
Yeah! It's a too good show to cancel. :( *cries*

[identity profile] aliasagent.livejournal.com 2005-08-05 12:56 pm (UTC)(link)
I'm with ya on that!

[identity profile] sugangel7.livejournal.com 2005-08-05 11:29 am (UTC)(link)
Well some of the last new good books I read were The Naming by Alison Croggon and Tithe by Holly Black.

But...what kind of books do you like to read?

[identity profile] aliasagent.livejournal.com 2005-08-05 12:57 pm (UTC)(link)
Cool, I'll check them out :)

I like to read any kind of books with complicated characters and some comical relief in the story.

[identity profile] potthead.livejournal.com 2005-08-05 12:46 pm (UTC)(link)
Well, it's good to know we're all normal for the most part! XD

[identity profile] aliasagent.livejournal.com 2005-08-05 04:46 pm (UTC)(link)
Thanks :) And thank god for a normal flist :)

Not any special genre. Just anything with comical reliefs and complicated characters.

Very pretty new layout!

For a book recommendation, I'm not sure if you've read them or not, but 'The Sisterhood of Traveling Pants' books are really good.

[identity profile] aliasagent.livejournal.com 2005-08-05 04:48 pm (UTC)(link)
Thank you :)

The sisterhood of travelling pants is a wonderful series of books. I've read the first two and will start to read the third one soon.

Gorgeous layout, I love Natalie. :) As far as books go, have you read Angels & Demons or DaVinci Code? They're both wonderful.

[identity profile] aliasagent.livejournal.com 2005-08-06 04:14 pm (UTC)(link)
I've actually never managed to read them. I've read 20 pages of the Da Vinci code, but it seems not to be a book for me :) if you understand what I mean.. but then again - in 20 pages a lot can happen

[identity profile] fallenpaths.livejournal.com 2005-08-06 08:28 pm (UTC)(link)
I know exactly what you mean. I found it really difficult to get into DaVinci Code but once I did, I really enjoyed it. In my opinion, it's nothing compared to Angels & Demons but maybe that's because I read that one first. DaVinci Code was just too similar and yet not as action packed as Angels & Demons. Ah well. :)

[identity profile] violetmist2003.livejournal.com 2005-08-05 06:33 pm (UTC)(link)
aww, natalie! it's pretteh.

as for books, i'd recommend the 'his dark materials' trilogy by philip pullman and the 'farseer' trilogy/series by robin hobb. both are wonderful.

[identity profile] aliasagent.livejournal.com 2005-08-06 04:15 pm (UTC)(link)
Wonderful! I love books series :) I'll look them up at once

Thank you. Natalie Portman is a good actress - isnt she?

[identity profile] violetmist2003.livejournal.com 2005-08-06 06:19 pm (UTC)(link)
yay!

yes she is.

It seems all the great shows are the ones that get cancelled. I have a feeling you would have liked American Dreams. Have you seen that one at all?

[identity profile] aliasagent.livejournal.com 2005-08-07 06:07 pm (UTC)(link)
American Dreams? I dont think so... What's it about? :)
