"Paved right over memory lane, huh?"

I seriously dont know what do to. I'm doing some serious Harry Potter research for a fanfiction I'm writing. So far the two person that have read it (
hakerrosenberg and
blanche_) thinks it's good, and that's something... right?
I'm searching therefore for some Draco/Harry icons. Atleased one. And then I'm thinking about starting up with Smallville again. I just got some kick when I saw some icons. And I just had to snagg an icon that I found in
pyleanelf's icon "gallery"... I adore the quote and it fits be totally.
And
blanche_, can you be a total sweetheart and give me the links to the Ginny/Draco fanfics that you recommened? I saved the links on my dads computer and guess where I'm now? Mom's and I forgot to send the file with the links to my email....

Date: 2005-01-04 08:42 am (UTC)As for recs... basically it depends on what you're after. :D I'm not too big on Harry/Draco, more of a Harry/Luna person, so I'm no help in the department.:P

Luna Lovegood begins her fifth year at Hogwarts, for the first time with a circle of friends, though not without the accompanying dangers
Wonderful, wonderful story. It's one of the best Harry/Luna fics I've read and the writer does an amazing job at keeping Luna in character (something which is really difficult IMO)
Distractions (http://www.thedarkarts.org/authorLinks/Elsha/Distractions/)
Theodore Nott would like to forget a future he doesn't want - and music has always provided a distraction. Anne Fairleigh just wants the chance to practice her flute in peace. But a chance friendship between pureblood Slytherin and Muggle-born Hufflepuff soon raises the very questions Theodore has been avoiding and Anne never thought to ask.
Also a wonderful story. The characterization here is lovely, especially when it comes to Theodore who is such a typical Slytherin in the beginning and ends up changing realistically (using that word since realistic changes can be quite difficult to write). If you don't mind reading about minor characters, I'd definitely recommend this.
Serpent's Bride (http://www.astronomytower.org/authorLinks/Reiko_Naoe/)
In Ginny Weasley’s 6th year, Draco Malfoy saved her life and that’s a wizard’s debt. Now, five years later its payback time. Especially now that Draco’s in desperate need of a wife.
This is basically the Draco/Ginny fic. It's stories like these that makes me love the pairing even though it has no chance in canon.
The Tale of the Lovely Thermometer (http://www.riddikulus.org/authors/nimue1540/TLT.html)
It's not easy being small, and nobody knows this better than Ron Weasley. Between monsters, brothers, bloody noses and crooked Evergreens, Ron's fifth Christmas Eve is sure to be the worst one ever.
Now you've got the novellength, the friendship fic, the romance... here's a more humorous story for you. :) It's a very cute and very funny (in a subtle and natural way) fic, one of my favorites.

You could try reading fics for inspiration. I always feel kind of inspired after reading them. At Fiction Alley, there are fic recs, if you didn't know that...they're called Niffles or something.
