Restless review

Here is my 'Restless' crappy review.
I think that Restless is by far one of the better episodes of Buffy in season 4. For the fans, there are several interpretations that you can have and it opens a lot of windows to a good fan fiction. There are a lot of "moments" or "connections" for different couples and shippers. There are a Buffy/Xander moment, Giles/Spike, Anya/Xander, Willow/Tara, Oz/Tara, Xander/Joyce, Giles/Olivia, Giles/Buffy, Giles/Anya, Xander/Willow/Tara and a lot of others. It's in my point of view one of the best episodes for UC couples.
The episode starts with Joyce meeting Riley, he leaves and Joyce makes a comment about finally meeting him. Buffy ignores her and they go and watch TV. As the movie start, they fall a sleep and you start seeing Willow's dream. It starts with Tara being concerned that they haven't found Miss Kitty a name, and how Willow doesn't know everything about Tara. Willow replies: "Have you told me your real name?" and she says "You know that". Then Willow doesn't ask anything more, I think it's because Willow trusts Tara deeply since they were friends before turning into lovers.
And when she goes to the drama class and meets Tara by the curtains she expresses the feeling that something is wrong, and she tells Tara how she feels about it. That was something that she couldn't get out with Buffy and the rest of her friends.
The part Giles has in Willow's dream is the guider, the one that controls and makes sure everyone are doing what they are suppose to. In my point of view that shows the guiding role that Giles has on everyone around her and her friends.
I think I'll stop analyze Willow's dream about there and jump over Xander's for a moment since I want to analyze Giles' (I suck at analyzing but I've got to try huh?).
The dream starts out with Giles, Olivia and Buffy walking around the cemetery and Buffy wants to "train". Giles makes a comment as Buffy throws a ball at a vampire that she got a sacred calling (and everything I guess all Buffy fans knows by heart - the watcher talk) and Olivia tells him to "go easy on the girl". I think that really shows how Giles wants to make Buffy the best slayer and how he considers himself to be her father.
After that we see Giles at the Bronze. Willow and Xander are sitting on a sofa and are really doing nothing I'd say. He comes with a book in his hand and says he recognizes this somehow. Xander makes a comment on how he got demon food (or whatever you want to call it) and how he needed to be here on Anya's big night, not seeing really interested.
Anyway, Anya steps up on stage; she's really nervous and wants to make the best attempt as possible. She looks down at the paper, looking if she had said it right and Giles looks at her, turns to the others and makes a comment about how good she is. Suddenly, Anya is making a good joke and some people are laughing and Xander isn't slow to laugh as well (the laugh did seem a big forced but....). Giles' attention is only at Anya, looking at her from his seat, till Willow calls at his attention with saying "Rupert". He turns to them and helps a bit. Then his gig is coming up and he starts to make his singing act (that almost made me drool btw).
He suddenly stops after a while and follows the cable to the mic to somewhere that the First Slayer is. He says he will defeat her with his intellect and he notices that she underestimates him. He says: "... you wouldn't know, because you never had a watcher." At that point I had figured out that we were dealing with some form of a Slayer (the first time that I saw it).
Back to Xander's dream. He first goes to make his needs when he encounters Buffy's mom Joyce. He gets very nervous and she's throwing herself at him and he says: "Buffy's mom" to not get into the temptation, noting that it's Buffy's mom.
He goes to do his needs when he finally reaches the bathroom, well there there's a bunch of Initiative people, looking and watching him closely, he feels uncomfortable. He then reaches his apartment but some monster apparently is knocking on his door, which later turns out to be his father. (Need to say more?) Anyway, we also see the attraction and fantasies he got about Willow and Tara. When he reaches Giles for the second time (after the sandbox thing) Giles starts to speak French, Anya comes and starts speaking the language as well. This is one other Giles/Anya moment that shows. They are speaking French, the language of love together. That shows of hints of a possible romance.
Anyway, there's much more to analyze with this but... It's so long what I've written to far so I'll stop and might do Buffy's dream a bit more later together with more on Xander's dream.
