Skins: 3x05 "Freddie"

OK, so this episode... I loved. Skins is wonderful and I'm in love with the show all over again. I don't really know why but I totally love it.

OK, that's a lie. I know exactly why I love it. For several reasons but for this to be interesting in any way, I can give you some small notes on why.

Even if the show is somewhat extreme, I still kind of adore it. While it goes go a bit off the radar in terms of alcohol and drugs (at least in my world), it somehow manages to be somewhat spot-on, regardless who the episode is about. Sure, the first two episodes weren't that amazing. But after 'Pandora', this show has really found its place, I think.

Just because it surprised me so much: Freddie/Cook ftw. Seriously. They give homoerotic a new category.

But sometimes it really makes me wonder just how exactly Cook feels about Freddie because he seems to be determined to piss Freddie off... Or win him back in a strange bizarre sort of way... damn you two! I'm supposed to be sort-of-shipping Panda/Cook. This show is officially turning me into a multishipping whore. And I don't even feel dirty about it.

I swear, when this season has aired, I'm going to make a music video. And I have the crackiest song choice ever. Totally hilarious and yet oddly fitting.

I really like Effy/Freddie, and I sort of like that they're not really getting together and they're sort of pining for each other. It's like Pandora said, she doesn't make enough effort. Also she seems sort of... well, sort of not willing to put herself out there. Figures it's better to take the pain now than later (... why am I thinking of fics when I should be writing an episode reaction post? Bad me!).

Poor JJ, watching them being all ~*angsty*~ (I really can't do those stars and waves things but I figured I'd make an effort). While JJ/Cook is this sort of sweet-love thing, the Freddie/Cook love is more... brutal and complex in its angsty ways.

This show has so much possibilities, however I'm hoping Pandora will be featured more in the future episodes because I want that whole Panda/Cook/Thomas thing to go somewhere. ... but then again, with the whole Effy/Freddie/Cook thing, it might be a little bit redundant. I don't know.

... this show is really going to force me to write fic, isn't it? *headdesk*

but as for merlin, i dunno because my love for merlin/arthur goes very deep i cant seem to get into any other pairing. i do like morgana/arthur but mostly because morgana is so fierce and awesome and i love her. and arthur/morgana are the only other ship with chemistry.

Hehe. I know right?! :D :D I suspect it's his unconscious love for Cook that has made him single to all the other ladies. Because it's against nature that someone as dreamy as Freddie should be without girlfriend. I'm just saying ;) I think that they both are totally fine sleeping with girls but they're ultimately obsessed with each other (or at least Cook is with Freddie) and sort of are each other's bad habits. That's what I think :P

I sort of get Merlin/Arthur, I really do, but I think... I don't really know. I think it might be because I'm sort of biased towards Morgana/Arthur (MISTS OF AVALON STOLE MY HEART WITH ITS ANGSTY WAYS. YOU MUST SEE IF YOU HAVEN'T ALREADY) but even though... Sometimes I feel as though the Merlin/Arthur stuff are a bit... obvious? I like it when it's subtle, layered and complex. I think it's the lack of that which makes me unable to read fics (but just to clarify: I totally ship them though, sort of, but again, Morgana/Arthur steals my heart a little).

If you know any good Merlin/Arthur fics, feel free to rec. I just don't dare diving into that ocean without something to keep me floating (I don't want to accidentally read something "bad" and then not being able to read any fics at all about them)

I know the show is obvious about the Merlin/Arthur undertones but I cant really resist them and their love for each other. i have a thing for boys in love (as you may have noticed?)

By Mists of Avalon do you mean the Merlin episode 7 "Gates of Avalon"? or some other thing in the arthurian legend canon? Merlin is the only thing ive ever seen in the universe.

Boys in love are the best ;) I used to have this huge love for Draco/Harry back in the day, and Krycek/Mulder and probably lots of ships since then ♥

There's a book called Mists of Avalon by Marion Zimmer Bradley that's amazing in many different ways. You really ought to read it *nods* :D The writing is superb :D

Oh right. See I never even knew much about the arthurian legends until Merlin came on. So my whole experience with the characters is just from the show. and i dunno im a bit reluctant to read/watch anything else because i like my merlin canon, you know?

bff boys who will do anything for each other are my weakness (hence freddie/cook, merlin/arthur, nate/chuck)
