Nostalgia hits me and I'm lovin' it

I'm back from dad's now which means I will be able to flist some. Yay! Missed you all much.

I saw an episode of Charmed yesterday (I borrowed season three and four from a friend a few weeks ago, those are also my favourite seasons) and I was hit with this pang of nostalgia. Charmed was so... good once, you know? I mean, it was so unbelievably awesome with the sister relation in the centre of the show (but then somewhere in season five it was all about babies or something) and then of course, Cole ♥ I heart Cole. My first fangirl crush and Phoebe/Cole is my first OTP (forever, yo) and... things were just awesome back then. When I watch an episode I get this feeling of how I was when I watched this show with my sister.

I used to know every episode name by heart (as I know Buffy's) and it was such a gigantic part of my childhood.

Blegh, now I have ads again. Have I mentioned how much I hate ads? No? Well, now it's screwing up my layout and is making my layout 800 px wide or something instead of 750 px, as it's supposed to be. Oh well... It's kind of funny how you always forget when your paid account expires.

I'm so going to make Charmed icons today :D Like I said = me heart that show. And just because I'm in the mood:
Favourite sister: Phoebe. Favourite relationship: Phoebe/Cole. Second favourite relationship: Phoebe/Leo (okay, that never happened but what if ;)). Favourite episodes (not all but some): Sleuthing with the Enemy, The Demon Who Came From The Cold (I just saw it so therefore it's on the list), Enter the Demon, Brain Drain, Black as Cole, A Paige From The Past, Long Live the Queen ♥ etc.

I watched Charmed until the end... but I think up until half of season 4 it was at it's best. Prue was my favorite but after that it was Paige. I liked the beginning of season 4 but didn't like so much how Cole became the Source.

I never really got Prue as well as I did Phoebe, I think I'm just more like her and that's why I liked her more. I liked the Source storyline (I love evil Phoebe :D) but I think it wasn't very well executed. *sniff* How I wish Phoebe and Cole ended up together. They were meant to be, or what do you think? Out of all the Phoebe pairings PC was definitely my absolute favourite, by miles. I mean, Cole... Yum ♥

I liked how driven Prue was but looking back now I'm more like Paige than any of the other sisters, but probably a little more shy. I didn't enjoy the Phoebe/Cole relationship much after they got married and the whole Source storyline got going... but after watching the episode when Piper "dies" and meets Cole whose trapped between realms... it made me feel very nostalgic about the P/C relationship and no matter how many love interests they made up for Phoebe after Cole was gone no one could compare to him.

For me, Cole was Phoebe's one true love. Like you said, there wasn't anyone who could compare.

Cole's interaction is mostly with Piper since she's the only one who can see him... but they do talk about Phoebe and there's sort of a brief moment when Phoebe senses something when Cole is standing there but she can't see him. You should see it, the episode brought a more bittersweet closure to the P/C relationship than the episode when Cole was vanquished (again).

Yeah, Charmed used to be really good, but I was only watching it up until season three, post that I just lost interest. So I guess you could say I'm a fan of the "old school" Charmed. It kind of drifted away into this blah ridiculousness of it, which I suppose not longer held my attention. I don't know. I tried getting into the later seasons once or twice. Never took. *shrugs*

What did you think of Phoebe/Cole? *VIQ = very important question :D* It sort of became ridiculous in a way after season three/four but... I still think it was pretty good. It was imaginative which not a lot of shows these days are. I barely remember season one and two, I have to rewatch it soon :D

I liked Phoebe/Cole. I thought they were cute, even with the whole "I'll pretend I'm someone I'm not" for a while. But still, cute. Yeah, I suppose it was imaginative. The different storylines they had each week were creative, if ridiculous at time. But I suppose that was the appeal of it to some, seeing what they could get away with and how they dealt with it. :D

What are you referring to?

True true, but if you look at for example Supernatural, I think you can see that there was a certain energy in Charmed that I think is lost these days in any kind of show. Charmed was sort of larger than life in a way and it just had that energy and feel to it that I think a lot of shows have lost. Sure, sometimes it didn't have it but if you look overall I think you can see it was there.

That is very true. Though these days the majority of shows are either reality or of the medical/cop variety. Very little are of the supernatural/scifi genre that has the chance to create or experiment that energy and feel, and whenever it does (like SPN) it often gets overlooked. But while Charmed did get goofy here and there it did set an example much like other shows (Buffy, Angel, etc.) for series there are today (Supernatural, Heroes, Doctor Who, Torchwood, LOST, etc.)
