Whenever I'm at ohnotheydidnt (it's like crack, don't judge me) and I come across a more or less intelligent discussion where the commenters use full sentences and actually make half-sense, I feel like I'm witnessing a miracle.

Also, can someone please explain to me why people seem to hate Claire Danes? (I wallow in shallowness)

Claire Danes hooked up with Billy Crudup on the set of a movie. Wouldn't have been a problem if his girlfriend at the time, Mary-Louise Parker, hadn't been seven months pregnant. He ended up leaving her for Claire Danes, although I think they broke up a few months ago. So she's been labeled a homewrecker. Big time because of the kid.

Well, it seems a bit exaggerated. I mean, it happens all the time. Also, seems a bit unjustified to blame it on Claire. I mean, I guess she didn't hold a gun to the man's head and told him to leave the kid. I mean comments such as homewrecker is everywhere once Claire is mentioned on ONTD :P

Unfortunately, the other woman is almost always blamed before the guy, but apparently CD was well aware of the fact that BC was with another woman pregnant with his child, and didn't care. While I like her acting, I don't necessarily feel that speaks highly of her as a person.

I can't comment on Danes' personality or person since I don't know her and I've never seen an interview, but I can guess that she did care, she just made a different priority. If the man falls in love with another woman, despite whatever the circumstances may be, I feel that the man should not be with the first woman (wife or anything like it) because even if he stayed it wouldn't be a healthy relationship. I'm not taking sides really since I feel I have no place in doing so but I can't understand the bashing since it seems a bit unfounded (not entirely but a bit)

I don't think that people should stay in a relationship that they aren't happy in either, but I feel that they do owe it to the person they were with originally to wait until they've ended the relationship to move onto someone new. Being in love with another person does not make it okay to cheat.

If Danes, or any woman, did care, but just went with a different priority, and that priority makes it okay to get in the middle of another relationship, then they've earned the title homewrecker. Because they knew they were wrecking a home and they did it anyway. It doesn't make them an all around bad person, but it does earn them that label.

And you can't really be surprised that ONTD is bashing beyond what is necessary. Its an extreme place. Nearly everything there is unfounded. Britney fat comments are a perfect example. They always take things further than need be.

I mean, people don't schedule falling in love and a lot of people probably don't realize it until it's far too late so... And I'm definitely not justifying cheating in any way, shape or form (even though it might seem like it but it's because it just sounds weird when I try to explain my pov. Does it sound weird?).

Homewrecker is a bit extreme, I feel, because a home is much more than just someone's parents, or a relationship. To me, home is more of a place where you are safe etc. You can still have a home even if your parents separate (I have issues with that title regardless of who gets it)
