I know everyone's done it but since this is the last book and all...

I was a bit bored somewhere in the middle when they were hiding from the Death Eaters in the tent and of course, the minor use of such a wonderful character as Luna was something that pained me, but not too much though. I do secretly (still) wish for Luna/Harry but on the same time... Even though the whole Ginny/Harry thing disgusts me because of the "one happy family thing", it was sort of nice to see some sort of closure and see that he was indeed married. And saying something like 'oh, and Luna married Harry' I think would throw some a bit off guard but I still believe that Luna will always be the friend that remains closest with Harry, despite his fondness of Ron and Hermione. Luna understands him in a way that no one else does and it is nice to see a girl who isn't crushing on Harry. So Harry/Luna friends worked for me, even though I wished they'd been more.

Snape/Lily for the win. I had expected it such a long time, but I love it all the same. I have now two OTPs that are battling for the top spot: Snape/Narcissa and Snape/Lily. Both of them, I'm equally fond of. Also, Harry/Luna is also nice but Harry ships are so last year, somehow. Also, Draco/Harry friendship is wonderful, especially since I ship them, but just... it turned out marvellously in the end. Luna was emphasised so much in the latter part of the book (when Harry looks for the people he loves and notes Luna) and not knowing what happened to her is a bit sad but I'm more than convinced that she's out somewhere, spreading her colourful theories while helping Mr. Ollivander with his shop. *nods* Yes, that's how I want it. Luna would be amazing like that and it was clear that Mr. Ollivander had a certain fondness for Luna that made me very pleased.

Other than that, I don't know what to say. I'm sad to be leaving the wonderful world of Harry Potter, but it's been so long since I fangirled it properly. I have my own stories now, in my head, ready for the making, but I don't know if I'll share them with anyone but myself. I'm a lot older now than since I read the first Harry Potter book and I mean... I will be reading Harry Potter to my kids when I get older (I so am!) because I just love the message, this new spin on the old saying, 'love conquers all'. Some segments, such as Harry's parents, Sirius, Lupin and all those walking with him, in what Harry believes, is his final hours and all those bits, brought me to tears.

I screamed when I found out that Snape had become headmaster ('cause admit it, it had to be a bit of a slap in the face for Harry at that point ;)), I cried for ten minutes when Dobby died ♥ I think he and Luna would've been very great friends because of their similarities. I yelled when Fred died because... damn! George without Fred... I couldn't help but think how it would be like for me not to have [livejournal.com profile] lauren_sark (who, some might not know, is my identical twin) and I... you know, horrible thought.

As I said, there are things that I do not agree with in the Harry Potter series, because of personal preference, but the end and the final emphasise on the oh-so-important message of the book made me love it so extremely much. Books that emphasise on love, being yourself and standing up against injustices are so hard to find these days. Therefore, I'm so very glad that Harry Potter exists.

Now off for a shower.

Thank you Harry Potter, for all of these wonderful years.

Yeah, *sniff* The Death of Dobby hurt me most though. I never realized how much I loved his character until he was gone.

Good good :D I'm glad I wrote something that can be agreed upon :D

I think that, at least for my part, I sort of accepted that Luna wouldn't be in it much, given her appalling amount of time in HBP and now when she was given much more than bargained for, I was really pleased and the fact that she was in the book more than Ginny (at least I thought so) was extremely pleasing :D Luna is wonderful.

You know, I can't really complain about the lack of Luna. I mean, I do love her. But then again, there are dozens of wonderful characters in the Potterverse that got nowhere near the time she got. I'm actually glad it was so focused on the trio. It's friendship that got them through and that was a really good theme to tackle.

Exactly. Although at times, I felt myself getting bored with Hermione and Harry stuck in that tent together, towards the middle, just before Ron came back. But focus on the trio was good because if there had been focus on anyone else as well, it would've been messy.

I didn't particularly think those parts were boring, but I was anxious for Ron to come back, so it seemed to drag on forever. So I know what you mean.
