Buffy: 4x01 The Freshman

Here is the review or more to say thoughts about the Buffy episode the Freshman. General thoughts and stuff after I saw it this morning.

Riley -- bad or good?
One of the things that the Buffy fandom sort of agrees on [with a few exceptions] is that Riley sucks. But after looking the first episode I see a lot of potential in the character. He's kind, gentlemanish and pleasant to be around. He's also very handsome. I think that the writers made a huge mistake pairing Riley up with Buffy. He would have been perfect with Willow after Oz left. *I smell a fan fiction*











Willow: the magic in the episode
I take back anything I've ever thought about Alyson Hannigan, she's amazing and I adore her character. Season four is really her highlight. She's not as shy as she had been in high school but she's not superforward either. Willow was probably one of the best things about the episode and her chemistry with Riley... The potential... *dreams*












Buffy - the loser
Do you have any idea how much I adore that Buffy is the complete loser in this episode? I mean she certainly doesn't have her best day and everyone looks at her like nobody and like she doesn't know anything. God how I adore that. *screams of happiness* I hate Buffy really, the character is so boring mostly although she did have her moments in the episode when she said that it was gross that Giles had his own personal life.










Other thoughts:
Sunday sucked. Bad. But it was alright in the end. She did a good job. Xander was amazing, not the jackass I believed him to be in the next seasons and just perfect to be -- Xander. I love how he said that no force in this world would make him tell about his experiences as a stripper. I smell fics. Possibly Xander/Spike... I might write.

That is it about the review. It's not a too long one but I adored posting the pictures and I'll probably post as I go along with this watching. About one post a day with Buffy pictures in other words.

I read somewhere that Riley was originally intended as a love interest to Willow. Thought you'd like that. ;)

WHY? WHY didn't they stick with that plan? *LOL* I like Willow/Tara BUT Riley/Willow had a chance as my OTP

I think the reason everyone didn't like Riley was because they introduced him too soon, ppls still hadn't gotten over Buffy/Riley. I really don't get the Riley hate, I adore him (with Buffy, and to think of it, i think he and Willow would have been soo cute together).

They did introduce him too soon if he was going to be Buffy's love interest. It was like 'a new year, let's throw in a new guy'. Riley is alright although he was a little bit "normal", which I guess is alright since everyone else are such characters :)
