I thought the hestation was partly to fool the viewer into thinking she was going to the standard innocent victim type wife of corrupt politician/secret supervillian -- which is to me less interesting because then she's not all that unusual a character type. Seeing them together as the episode went on, I thought she was so much more interesting than that. But we'll see when Saturday comes around . . .
