Yeah, and especially because they are young. Its important not to be alone and as you said in your ficlet, they can't tell their classmates. So their bond could be really important for them.
Which makes me wonder, what happens in season 2... does the Sanders family go back to Las Vegas and every one of the heroes is going his/her own path again? Or do they form some sort of union? (the Sanders are the only non New Yorkers, right? Since, the Bennets' house burned down anyways, I can imagine them going to NY..) Sorry, for going totally off-topic. I just had to type it down. ^^
