Name: Never Say Never Again
Author: AngelsGirl (Emelie)
Rating: PG
Pairing: Harry/Draco
Summary: Never again.
Author's Notes: This was just a little ficlet on about 615 words inspired by the Natalie Merchant song Never Again. I wanted it to be sort of relatable, maybe not to the pairing but to the situation. I don't know if I managed to pull it off or if I should put it in the trash can, but feedback is always love. Even if you don't read Harry Potter.
Harry had told himself that he was never again going to let it happen again. Never again with Draco Malfoy. It made him disgusted just thinking about it, it was against everything he'd ever believed in and the whole experience had just made him confused. He didn't like to be confused, it made him feel stupid and as if he had no idea what was going on with the world. During the madness with Malfoy, Harry had even noticed that his two best friends were going out.
"Harry!" Ron awoke Harry from his thoughts, "Good to see you are back against the living. Hogsmeade weekend this week, we need to make plans. With the new shop there's no chance that we'll have enough time to explore all stores at one visit-"
"Don't be silly;" Hermione put in and gave Ron a friendly glare, "We're going to be there all day. I swear if you look at another broom-" Harry hadn't noticed until now that Ron and Hermione were holding hands.
Harry excused himself from their conversation and he could feel the worried glances on his back. He thought he heard Hermione whisper: "Have you seen how distracted Harry is? I think something's bothering him."
Damn straight, something was bothering him. Harry wasn't supposed to think about Malfoy or even acknowledge his existence. He wasn't even supposed to look at him. Then why the hell was it so difficult not to?
Harry sat down on a bench by the lake and hid his face in his hands. Everything was just so screwed up. Suddenly a horrible thought entered his mind; what if Malfoy had told anyone? All the colour in his face drained out. No, he couldn’t.... He's a Slytherin, his mind told him. He can do anything.
Not all Slytherins are bad; a new voice commented that Harry never had heard before.
Suddenly Harry saw a couple of Slytherin students walk by with their green-silver scarves and thick wool coats. They passed him a glare and he had to look away with a light pink shade on his cheeks. Oh no!
Draco Malfoy was going to pay. That son of a Death Eater! Harry was growling internally as he walked with harsh steps across the green Hogwarts lawn.
He found Malfoy talking to a group of Slytherins that were in his year. Harry heard something about a debt but didn't stop to think about it. He ruthlessly grabbed Malfoy's collar and dragged him to the nearest empty classroom and harshly shut the door behind him.
"You son of a..." Harry trailed off; he couldn't really say Death Eather because that wouldn't count as an insult.
Annoyance spread over Malfoy's face like snowflakes fell down from the sky. "What are you on about? What I'd do?"
By this point, Harry was blowing off so much frustration within him that he didn't even notice his fist colliding with Malfoy's jaw. "You told people!" Harry accused as Malfoy rubbed his jaw.
"You'd really think I'd tell people about that?" Draco snorted, "Fat chance. My dad would kill me."
Harry rolled his eyes. "As if, last time I looked he was in Azkaban."
Malfoy looked around as if he was thinking about dropping the subject completely but then shot back that there was nothing that kept Lucius from trying anyway.
"And like I'd actually tell people," Malfoy went on and closed up on Harry who looked at Draco, his eyes filled with questions, "That stupid, ignorant little mistake that's never going to happen again." It wasn't a question - it was a statement.
"Good." Harry said between his teeth.
Suddenly, with a flash Malfoy's lips was upon Harry's and Harry was pushing Draco against a wall. Somehow the promise Harry made disappeared from his mind.
The End.
