Lost - Hearts and Minds (Boone episode)
I was thinking about Lost and well... I first just wanted to give me my thoughts about the relieved comment about Shannon being dead.
I'm a Shoone shipper, in all it's might and glory. I love Shannon and Boone to death and I really want them to end up together - somehow. Even though Boone said he was relieved when Shannon was thought to be dead, I still ship them.
When Shannon finally let go of her emotions (or gave into his, there's still discussion about that) and slept with Boone, he probably thought for a moment that he would get the girl and live happily, and all of that was smashed the moment she turned on the lights and she was fully dressed. She hadn't meant anything of it, it was just to make him pleased and that he would gain respect for her again.
Still, there's something that I'm conflicted with. I'm not sure if Shannon saw it as a way just to get into his good graces. It's not unknown that people get scared and turn people down in fear of getting hurt. Shannon is without a doubt in my mind still drawn to bad guys and I believe she at first had a few abusive boyfriends. It's the bad guys that she usually go for, and either she could be worried that Boone would turn out to be like them or that he was going to leave her if they broke up.
Back to the relieved comment. The day they slept together Boone's heart was smashed, walked on and thrown in the dirty. That had to sting some and I would never really forgive anyone for doing that. I dont know if I'd be able to forgive myself for it. So when Boone thought Shannon died, he thought that he wouldn't have her walking around throwing everything he wanted in his face and constantly reminding him of what she denied him.
And a part of him was probably in shock, he might've closed up a few thoughts in his brain that would make his "loss" greater, such as what he loved about her and how things were before they were screwed up.
I love Shoone and I want them to end up together but I do agree with Locke: Time to let go. Shannon is messing with him, making him feel bad and stupid. He needs his time, his life and all that to be under his control, not according to when Shannon calls him. He needs to learn a lot of things and learn to love other than his step-sister. I still hope for them in the end though.
The scenes with Sun were amazing and it showed once again why I love Sun so much. She set up a plantage in the jungle and grows food to keep everyone with food even though nobody asked her. And I got to see a new side of Jin, that I hadn't seen before. It's promising and I think I'm letting go on the hope for her and Michael.
Jin is caring, he's learning again to be the man she loved and she's with him every step of the way, helping him and being faithful. Their relationship is shown to be very minor but it's beautiful, tradgic and hopeful. Sun's a good woman even though she comes from great money like Shannon she isn't spoiled and she cares about other people. Sun might still get what she wants - her husband back to the way he were. I'm feeling a fic comming on, here.
Then we have the great and mighty Hurley, the dude whose foot got peed on. Yes, I adored that scene. Jin was lovely and Jorge Garcia or what's his name should get a Golden Globe. He's frickin' awesome.
I wont rant about Jack or the lack of Sawyer-ness. I just talked about Shannon/Boone and Sun/Jin mostly.
