Thought about post-series fictions

I started thinking... (oh yes, we are doomed now ;)) Is it just me that has a trouble liking Post-Chosen or Post-NFA fics? I mean the author can be really REALLY good but there's just something about it that is so finale in a way. Off course there are exceptions on everything like that ficlet that bashipforever posted a few days ago, but I'm talking generally here.... Is it just me that isnt really a fan of post-series fictions?
